Introduction
The resources on this website are designed to help schools improve the nutritional quality of the food eaten at lunchtime by children. These resources include online lunch auditing tools, lesson plans, and a multi-lingual advisory leaflet publishing system.
These tools enable schools to compile data about the nutritional content of lunches eaten within the school. Schools can add data to the system through a simple online form, and children can take the Lunch-o-matic memory master - these tools compile information about the content of children’s lunches by asking a series of questions relating to the four major food groups. Once collected, the data can be analysed and the results used to influence the school’s food policy.
Schools can choose from a bank of set texts to compile their own leaflets and publish them in a range of languages. In order to make this resource applicable to as broad a range of settings as possible, the text can be customised so it accurately reflects each school’s policies. The leaflet can include the school name and contact details, and can be customised with logos and a custom image for the cover.
